Bob Katter to become the ‘Father of the House’

Queensland MP Bob Katter will become the ‘Father of the House’ when the 47th Parliament of Australia opens next week on July 26.

The Member for Kennedy is the longest continuously serving MP in the lower house.

Mr Katter was first elected back in 1993 and has held the Northern Queensland seat of Kennedy for nearly three decades.
