The early morning idea has inspired the new name for independent brand and advertising agency 4AM, previously known as Brandspank.
“It’s always intrigued me how hard your subconscious brain works in the background. Solutions for all sorts of problems suddenly hit you when you least expect it,” says Founder & Executive Creative Director, Steve Thomson. “It’s not always at 4AM, but sometimes it is.”
Founded in 1999, Brandspank became well recognised as a creative agency specialising in the broadcast industry in New Zealand and abroad. Between 2000-2015, Brandspank produced award-winning brands and campaigns for SKY, MediaWorks, Rugby World Cup, Discovery and Foxtel.
Over the past 10 years that mix of clients has evolved and the agency has moved with it, now providing strategic platforms, brand identities and advertising solutions for FMCG, education, food & wine, retirement, fashion, finance and property brands, recently successfully launching Queenstown food & wine destination Ayrburn.
“We felt it was time to acknowledge that shift with a fresh brand for ourselves, a new place we can continue to grow from with our unique blend of strategic thinking, creativity and production to bring real value and momentum for our clients” says Managing Partner & Executive Creative Director, Kurt Bradley.
Bradley says 4AM is a highly productive alternative to boutique style brand design studios and large-scale agencies.
“Focused, agile and effective with the clarity of thinking and creative solutions that cut through and work at speed, for highly profitable and impactful outcomes. Nothing’s changed and everything’s changed. Same friendly team working smart and hard to help our clients win, now just wearing a different logo on the tee.”
