For Cam Thomas, an ample amount of opportunity for the Brooklyn Nets would give him a greater chance to prove his case as a naturally talented young scorer.
As he recently appeared in a podcast interview with Zach Schumaker of “The SchuZ Show,” Thomas got no doubts about producing heavier numbers if he has the ball in his hands as the “guy” of the team.
”Ball in my hand? 25 … 25 no doubt, easy,” said Thomas, per Net Income and Lucas Kaplan of SB Nation. “And that’s just me having confidence in my ability, knowing what I can bring.”
Thomas already impressed many with his scoring wits and offensive potential. He was able to carve four 40+ points in four games (including a three-straight in February) last season, joining Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Vince Carter, and John Williamson as the only Nets in record books to score 40 or more four times in a season in the NBA.
As the franchise dealt both Irving and Durant, Thomas was able to see much-increased numbers at his side in his sophomore year by averaging 10.6 points, 1.7 boards and 1.4 assists for 57 games.
With Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, and Spencer Dinwiddie already locked as starters for Brooklyn in the upcoming season, it is yet to be seen if Thomas will be able to seize a starter role within the squad and have an ample green light to produce. Despite the uncertainty, no one can deny that he definitely has that sky-high potential as a prolific promising scorer.
