Canadian women’s soccer coach Bev Priestman put out a statement on Sunday, marking her first public comments since she was suspended from the Olympics by Canada Soccer for a drone spying scandal.
In the statement released through her lawyer, Priestman apologizes to her players and the country. She says she will co-operate with the Canada Soccer investigation.
FIFA also banned Priestman for a year on Saturday, while docking Canada six points at the Olympics.
Canada Soccer suspended Priestman on Thursday after Canada’s opening game.
More to come.
