Responding to a fan who asked the Fuller House star if she had taken the photo down, the 49-year-old actress and Christian influencer said she removed it and gave her reason why.

“Yes. I was at the beach. I was in a one piece, not a bikini. I am soaking up the end of summer,” Bure wrote on her Instagram Stories alongside a photo of herself in a yellow sundress. “I was having fun. It wasn’t about my bathing suit or my body. But the comments became flooded with people discussing my body. It wasn’t worth it. I took it down.”

During an episode of The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast earlier this year, Bure reflected on times she has been “mean” to her body and how a dream helped change her perspective.
“I’ve whipped my body. I’ve spoken to it so harshly. So mean,” she said (per Fox News).

“And then God allowed my body to speak back, and my body said back to me, ‘Have I not been the body that’s carried you all the days of your life? Am I not your legs that allow you to walk? Am I not your arms that allow you to pick up and feed yourself? … Why do you hurt me so badly, and why do you talk to me so badly, and why do you treat me this way? I can lift you up … you have to tell me what to do. I’m following your lead.’”
She continued by calling it “an amazing revelation.”
“I never saw it that way — it’s this beautiful amazing thing that God gave me,” she said.
While appearing on Fox News Digital in July, Bure said that she struggled with body image issues in the ‘80s and ’90s.
“It makes me sad to see everyone suddenly becoming skinny because I think it’s very triggering for a lot of people our age that grew up in the ‘80s and ’90s. It was the ‘Kate Moss era’ and you’re like, ‘Oh, this is what we have to be attractive,’ ” she said.

Back in 2018, the mother of three fired back at an online commentator who criticized her weight. “All that exercising, and you still look like you weigh more than your husband, did you change your diet?” they commented on one of her photos, according to Page Six.
“If a 25-inch waist looks big to you … then you’re looking through an altered lens. Be well,” Bure replied.
Bure also admitted in 2023 that she hasn’t eaten fast food in over 20 years.
“I haven’t eaten fast food except for In-N-Out in 20 years,” she wrote in her Instagram Stories. “Some days I wonder what a burger and fries is like from McDonalds or Burger King or Wendy’s or any of those other places I’ve never eaten at.”
“And no, I’ve never had Taco Bell or anything similar,” she wrote in another post, adding, “I don’t regret it. You can’t convince me otherwise.”

Right on cue, Internet detectives combed through Bure’s old social media posts to prove her declaration was a lie and found pics of her eating Chick-fil-A.
“@candacecbure this you?” one person wrote along with a photo of Bure holding a Chick-fil-A cup alongside one of her kids.

This past May, Bure shared a message she received from someone who said she “looked really old” and is “not aging well.”
“I shared the last post, not for sympathy but to show the kinds of messages I receive daily. DAILY!! Aging is sensitive,” Bure said on her Instagram Story, according to Us Weekly. “Comments like this hurt, no matter whether they meant to be mean-spirited or just a shared ‘opinion.’ As I embrace aging, I’m choosing to do it as naturally and as gracefully as possible.”
Bure has also openly spoken about her battle with bulimia.
On a July episode of her podcast, she said she “developed an eating disorder when I was 18.”
“It was binging and purging,” she said, Entertainment Weekly reported. “I’m a bulimic. I still say I’m a bulimic because the thoughts, whether I’m doing that or not, never leave me. I still need the tools to say, ‘No, Candace, we’re not doing that.’”
