LeBron James will become a free agent next summer if he does not sign an extension with the Lakers. At the same time the Cavaliers are projected to have enough cap space to sign their former superstar.
However, that does not seem likely to happen. According Joe Vardon of The Athletic, Cleveland is ‘not proceeding with the intention of getting LeBron for a third time.’
The four-time NBA champion has said earlier this year that retiring as a Cavalier is not out of question.
