Kaizer Chiefs coach Cavin Johnson feels his team is not making progress this year following a 2-0 loss to Chippa United at the Buffalo City Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Goals from Bienvenu Eva Nga and Sinoxolo Kwayiba were enough to secure the Chilli Boys maximum points at home.
The defeat is Amakhosi’s ninth of the season in 23 matches so far in the DStv Premiership.
Calvin Johnson felt Kaizer Chiefs took two steps back following their mid-week defeat to Stellenbosch.“As you said, one step forward, two steps backwards,” he told SuperSport TV.
“I thought the first 20 minutes of the game belonged to us, we entered their area where we were supposed to score goals, probably 5-6 times.
“We break, we’re supposed to score but we don’t put it in the back of the net and then we suffer afterwards,” Johnson added.

“Then we give away two goals, the first goal was very soft from an out-ball throw, the second goal we don’t put pressure on the ball and they also get into the box and they score two goals.”
Amakhosi tried to come back into the game in the second half but were denied by Chippa United keeper Darren Johnson.
“Coming out their tails are high, we have to go at them. You see the second half, I thought we played in one half in the second half but again the goalkeeper makes a magic save with [Siyethembe] Sithebe’s shot,” Johnson said.
”Ranga [Chivaviro] doesn’t put the ball in the ball in the net, Ashley [Du Preez] doesn’t come into the box to get something out of it.”
Kaizer Chiefs under Johnson this year have only won one game out of seven. Although hired as an interim coach, many fans believe the 65-year-old should be given the boot before the season ends.
