Lleyton and Bec, pictured here at the Logies the same year they married in 2005, started dating in 2004.

They had actually met years earlier when Bec was 16 and Lleyton was 18, when the actress was paired with the tennis great for a charity match.

“I couldn’t play tennis, so it was quite comical,” she previously told Stellar. “I didn’t impress him with my game, he just thought it was really admirable that I gave it a go.”

Bec was dating her Home and Away co-star Beau Brady at the time, and Lleyton was dating Belgian tennis player Kim Clijsters.

Around a year later, Lleyton won Wimbledon, and Bec sent him a message to congratulate him. The duo texted back and forth, and after each of their relationships came to an end, Lleyton asked Bec if she wanted to catch up.

“We decided to catch up and it went from there. And from the first time we saw each other [at that time], I think we saw each other every day,” Bec told the publication.

Six weeks after going public with their relationship, the duo got engaged, marrying in 2005.

Shortly after their nuptials, Bec fell pregnant with her first child – Mia – and announced she was leaving Home and Away and her acting career behind as she focused on raising her family.
