The city announced it was closing roadways in the Chicago’s central business district Friday night as a public safety measure ahead of the caravans celebrating the Mexican Independence Day.
There will be closures from Division Street to 18th Street and fromDuSable Lake Shore Drive to Halsted Street intermittently throughout the night, according to a statement from the city’s Office of Emergency Management and Communications.
“Plan accordingly and allow extra time if traveling in the area,” spokesperson Mary May said in the statement.
