The Executive Director of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Henry Kwabena Kokofu, has called for collective efforts in dealing with indiscriminate burning of rubbish.
He made the call at a news conference held in Accra, saying the EPA was doing its best to ensure that the air is not polluted with airborne diseases.p
He cautioned churches, pub, night clubs and restaurants over noise making.
The EPA is going to fix a device that they can track menace of noise making in communities, he said.
According to him, Ghanaians have a role to play in the fight against noise making.
Mr. Kokofu was optimistic that giving the MMDCEs the support to enforce their by-laws was in a right direction.
He appealed to dealers who engage in the sale of counterfeit goods to desist from doing so and give them two weeks ultimatum.
The offense of fake dealers and counterfeit goods are not bailable offense.
“Why must one go and trade without license whilst there are Law’s in the country” he warned.
He revealed that some perpetrators have been arrested and facing trials.
