A bus has gone off the road causing traffic delays south of Timaru.
A commercial bus has crashed into a ditch on State Highway 1 south of Timaru and is blocking the northbound lane.
A police media team spokesperson said emergency services were responding to the crash in Salisbury, between Timaru and Pareora, which had blocked the northbound lane of SH1.
“It appears a commercial bus has left the road and crashed into a ditch,” the spokesperson said.
“Police were alerted about 4.30pm, however, there are no reports of injuries.”

Southbound lanes remain open, but motorists should expect delays between the Beaconsfield and Scarborough roads intersections while emergency services were at the scene.
A Fire and Emergency NZ spokesperson said they were alerted to the crash at 4.31pm in Salisbury, just a few kilometres south of Timaru.
“One fire truck is currently attending the incident,” the spokesperson said.
