If you live in or visit Texas frequently, you may have access to additional airport lounges soon. That’s if applications and permits are approved — one of which could happen this month.
For context, first Chase Sapphire lounge is open in the Hong Kong International Airport (HKG), with plans for nine additional lounges in the U.S. The last two of those locations were previously unknown, but it looks like those lounges will be at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS).
Here’s what we know about these potential locations for Chase Sapphire lounges.

Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) Sapphire lounge details
A Sapphire lounge at the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport is being considered by the airport’s governing board, as first reported by Thrifty Traveler. The meeting to vote on approving or denying this lease was set for Feb. 2 but has been canceled, due to inclement weather.
The lease term would last for 10 years and would provide DFW with an annual minimum guarantee of $6.45 million — with a 3% increase each year, according to board documents.
If approved, the lounge would be near the Capital One Lounge at DFW, located near D22, and not far from the Centurion lounge at D12.
What is the opening date of the Dallas-Fort Worth lounge?
There’s no confirmed date at this time. However, Page 81 of the board meeting documents states that the DFW location would be “one of the first lounges in the U.S.” Thus, Chase may be planning to finish the Sapphire lounge at DFW before previously-announced locations in other airports. When we know of a confirmed opening date, we will update this page.
Austin (AUS) Sapphire lounge
Chase has applied for a permit to upgrade an existing space at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, as first reported by View from the Wing. Information about the space is scant, as the permit application page reads only that this is for an application to upgrade an existing space.

Unfortunately, there are no details about lounge features or even the size of the lounge. As more details become available, we will provide updates.
What is the opening date of the Austin lounge?
There’s no confirmed date at this time. Chase’s lounge application is for upgrading an existing space, which could be faster than building a lounge from scratch. However, a specific date for opening the doors hasn’t been announced. We will provide updates when a concrete timeline is provided.
Bottom line
Chase is committed to entering the airport lounge market and to giving American Express Centurion Lounges and Capital One Lounges stiff competition.
From the permit applications above, Austin and Dallas-Fort Worth look like two airports to receive Sapphire lounges in the future.
You can access these lounges with your Priority Pass membership or with the Chase Sapphire Reserve.
