LeBron James came up with yet another 40-point performance as he dropped game-high 48 points to help the Lakers defeat the Rockets (140-132).
The 38-year-old superstar continues to show his longevity, despite playing his 20th season in the NBA. Lakers head coach Darvin Ham shared his thoughts on LeBron’ latest performance.
“I think it’s historic on a lot of different levels,” Ham said after the game. “For him to be at this point of his career and still be able to produce at the level in which he’s producing. I just think all of us just being able to witness it be a part of it and it shows his competitive spirit, his no-quit mentality.
“We’ve had guys in and out the lineup, banged up, miss games for various reasons including him. But his has been more on the minimal side. Whenever he’s out there, he’s just competing, just how efficient he’s been as well. It’s amazing to see.
“He wants to win, we all want to win. He’s willing to do whatever it takes. If it requires him to score 20 points or the teens with a triple-double or to score 40 or 50, he’s just there to fill whatever hole there is that we may be experiencing in the moment. He just continues to be great. We just got keep him in bubble wrap and keep him going.”
