The father of Israel Afeare, the logistics manager to Afrobeats star Davido, has died at the age of 71.
Afeare, an indigene of Edo State popularly known as Israel DMW, confirmed the development in a telephone conversation on Saturday.
He disclosed that his father, Mr. Afeare Eric, a retired Deputy Superintendent of Police, died on March 2 in a hospital in Ibadan after a brief illness.
Reacting to the loss, Israel described his late father as his pillar of strength and credited him with keeping the family united.
“It is sad losing my father at this time. We still need him with us, but God knows better,” he said.
“He was my pillar of strength and was instrumental in making the family an indivisible unit.”
The deceased is survived by two wives and eight children.
