Matthew Dellavedova will play for Sacramento in the NBA this season, with the Australian guard agreeing to terms with the Kings on Friday.
The Kings did not disclose terms of the deal for Dellavedova, who played for new Sacramento coach Mike Brown as a rookie with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2013-14.
Brown was named coach of the Kings on May 9.
Dellavedova, 31, spent last season playing for Melbourne United in the National Basketball League.
The Boomers star averaged 5.5 points and 3.7 assists while playing 447 career games (93 starts) with the Cavaliers and Milwaukee Bucks.
Dellavedova was also a part of Cleveland’s 2016 NBA championship team.
The Kings have missed the playoffs for 16 consecutive seasons, the longest drought in NBA history.
Sacramento fired third-year head coach Luke Walton early in the season after the Kings started 6-11. Interim head coach Alvin Gentry was not retained after the Kings finished the season 30-52.
