The Golden State Warriors landed a good one this season in Dennis Schroder.
Convinced to repeat their sizzling early season run and improvement on their roster, the Warriors made a major move to acquire Schroder from the Brooklyn Nets last December.
Throughout the years, the veteran guard has been stellar with his crafty play style, and he couldn’t be more perfect to place as backcourt mate of Stephen Curry with his aggressiveness, ball handling, and playmaking.
A feisty, alpha player
Perhaps no one within Golden State has been a bigger fan of Schroder than Draymond Green.
Apparently, Green and Schroder have plenty of shared similarities. Both players are fiery, highly competitive, and ready to do whatever it takes to win. They established themselves as bullies on the court and won’t ever back down on the adversities and challenges.
After all of the battles and encounters they had throughout the years, Green couldn’t be happier that he now identifies Schroder as an ally who brings an added edge and intensity to his Warriors group.
“I love playing with Dennis on our team. You know, we had battles against Dennis over the years, and so there’s a mutual respect already there, but him coming to this team, he brings a feistiness that we need at the guard spot,” the Golden State Warriors star said in an episode of his Draymond Green Show with Baron Davis.
“He brings a demeanor that we need, alpha male, you know, that doesn’t hurt anyone. You know, there’s no alpha here that feels uncomfortable with another alpha next to them, you know. And so we invite that. We invite you to be the exact alpha that you are in every situation.
A standout leader
Although things are yet to click for Schroder as the veteran guard is averaging 9.5 points in a rough 31.3 percent shooting across 11 games wearing a Warriors jersey, Green is simply confident that the German star will ultimately find his groove and help Golden State to win games amid ongoing frustrations.
Nevertheless, Green is loving every minute of witnessing Schroder at their side as a contributor, floor general, and leader.
“I’ve enjoyed it. Unfortunately, we haven’t won as many games as we would like to, but it’ll come together, I believe,” Green said.
“But man, Dennis is he’s a leader, like he gets to problems. Like, if there’s a problem, he see it, he go right to it.”
