An eThekwini metro police officer who allegedly filmed himself while killing his pregnant girlfriend is expected to wait until at least November before his bail application can be entertained.
The 27-year-old murder-accused, Sizwe Ngema, made a brief appearance in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Friday where the case against him was adjourned until 5 July.
Magistrate S’celo Zuma heard that the State, which had sought a mental evaluation for Ngema, could only secure a bed for him at the specialised Fort Napier Hospital, which only serves mentally challenged clients, from 8 November.
