In July, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) signed a four-year contract with the former Benfica coach to replace Ehab Galal who was fired after just three matches on the job.
Wednesday’s preliminary list did not include any Zamalek players who are facing Saudi side Al Hilal in the Saudi-Egyptian Super Cup on 9 September before facing Elect-Sport FC of Chad in the preliminary round of the African Champions League on 10 and 17 September.
The list also saw the first international call-up for eight players: Ahly defender Karim Fouad; Ittihad winger Ahmed Adel Messi; Ittihad midfilder Marwan Attia; Ismaily winger Ahmed Madbouly; Pharco midfilder Mahmoud Hamada; Pyramids FC winger Eslam Eissa; Ceramica Cleopatra striker Shady Huessin; and NBE Club striker Nasser Mansi.
According to the EFA, Vitoria will announce the foreign-based players on 4 September before announcing the final list on 17 September after Zamalek and foreign-based players become available.
Vitoria has reportedly asked the EFA to play two friendly games during his first preparatory camp amid reports that Niger and Liberia.
