During his visit to Israel, prominent China’s slave labor critic Enes Kanter Freedom talked to the local outlet Walla. He discussed various topics including the Turkey national team using naturalized players such as Shane Larkin:
“A kid works his whole life and goes through so many levels to reach the senior national team. And then you bring in American players and pay them millions of dollars. I am not totally against it. But you are pushing your guy out. Your own kid, who dreamed of playing for his country and is loyal. And this team plays with the country’s flag on the jerseys.”
Enes Kanter Freedom – an outspoken human rights activist – was traded by the Boston Celtics to Houston Rockets at the trading deadline. The Rockets waived him on Feb. 14.
The NBA big man has played 11 seasons for 5 teams, including the Boston Celtics and Utah Jazz. He has averaged 11.2 points and 7.8 rebounds in 748 regular-season games.
