Epic late surge that saw Tatjana Smith win Olympic gold!

Coming into the 100m Olympic breaststroke final on Monday night, Tatjana Smith was the clear favourite, but she touched and turned at the 50m mark trailing in fourth place.

However, a stunning late surge in the final 20m enabled her to touch the wall first in 1.05.28 to claim South Africa’s first gold medal at the Paris Games 2024.
