English Premier League giants have sacked manager Thomas Tuchel.
Chelsea said in a statement on Wednesday the new owners “believe it is the right time to make this transition,” as the new ownership group reaches 100 days since taking over the club.
“On behalf of everyone at Chelsea FC, the club would like to place on record its gratitude to Thomas and his staff for all their efforts during their time with the club,” it said in a statement.
With Tuchel, Chelsea won the Champions League in 2021, followed by a maiden Club World Cup title in 2022. However, the team didn’t have a good start into the new Champions League season, with a 1-0 defeat to Dinamo Zagreb.
In the Premier League, Chelsea are sixth, five points behind leaders Arsenal.
