Federal Chancellor Scholz congratulates Trump on winning the election

Berlin (d.de) – Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz congratulated the future US President Donald Trump on winning the election in the USA. “I congratulate Donald Trump on winning the US presidential election. Germany and the USA have been cooperating successfully for a long time to promote prosperity and freedom on both sides of the Atlantic. We will continue to do so for the benefit of our citizens,” Scholz stated. Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier said that Trump could “rely on Germany as a strong partner of the United States of America”. After returning from Ukraine, Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock also offered her congratulations, saying that Germany, Europe and the United States were the closest partners and allies. “Germany will be a close and reliable ally of the future American government, too.”
