Firefighters are battling a large scrub fire in Whangārei.
Crews were called just after 2pm to Hutchinson Road in Pataua South.
The fire has burned through three hectares of bush and pine tree slash.
Four fire trucks and three helicopters are at the scene and another is on standby.
