Brighton & Hove Albion welcome Liverpool to AMEX Stadium in the Fourth Round of 2022-23 FA Cup.
Victory will see Brighton reach the Fifth Round for the fourth time in six seasons, whilst Liverpool are looking to continue their title defence.

When is Kick-Off?
Brighton will host Liverpool at AMEX Stadium on Sunday 29 January in a 1:30pm GMT kick-off, live on ITV1 for UK-based viewers.
Stat Attack
- Brighton have won two of seven previous FA Cup meetings against Liverpool across five ties in which two ties needed a replay in February 1908 and January 1991 (W2, D2, L3).
- Liverpool have won two of three previous FA Cup visits to Brighton (W2, L1), although this is their first FA Cup clash at Brighton’s current home – AMEX Stadium.
- Both teams have scored in five of their seven previous FA Cup meetings, with the two ties in which just one team scored having come when Brighton played as the home team.
- In two home games across all competitions since returning from the World Cup break, all five of Brighton’s goals at the AMEX Stadium have been scored after half-time.
- Liverpool have won just one of three away matches in all competitions since the turn of 2023 (W1, L2).
Prediction
Having defeated Liverpool here just two weeks ago in the Premier League, Brighton certainly should come into this game with confidence because their attacking quality has been immense this past month but their marking will need to be better than it was last weekend at Leicester.
Liverpool meanwhile aren’t exactly in strong form but have kept clean sheets in their last two matches which is a positive sign, yet were lucky to snatch a goalless draw against Chelsea last weekend because they were vulnerable at set pieces and wasteful of their own chances.
Jurgen Klopp though will need to ensure that his Reds are more motivated for this game than they were a fortnight ago, because Brighton have scored at least twice in their last six matches so tight defending might be crucial to at least getting the tie back to Anfield for a replay at minimum.
Prediction: Brighton 1-1 Liverpool
