TEXAS: Friends of Kashmir hosted “Kashmir Conference” in Texas, with the event participants said that October 27 is the darkest day in human history when India started the worst violation of human rights by landing its troops in Kashmir, and since then, the Indian occupying army is maintaining its oppressive occupation in Kashmir.
The conference started with recitation of Holy Quran.
Texas state representative Terry Meza, the chief guest of the event, said that the United States believes in the supremacy of human rights. Kashmiris are fighting for their freedom and any kind of coercion and violence against them is not acceptable.
Speaking at the Black Day ceremony, well-known social leader Abdul Hafeez Khan said that it is the fundamental right of every nation to struggle for its freedom and all those who believe in the human rights of Kashmiris should raise their voice in their support.
On this occasion, Ghazala Habib, the founder chairperson of Friends of Kashmir, said that Kashmiris have been struggling to get rid of the occupation of India for the past 76 years and demanded the United Nations to give Kashmiris their right to self-determination was promised to them by the United Nations and more than 18 resolutions have been approved in this regard.
Deputy Consul General of Pakistan Consulate to Houston Ashar Shahzad, who was present at the event, said that the Pakistani nation stands by their side in the struggle for freedom of Kashmiris and Pakistan will continue to support Kashmiris politically, diplomatically and morally at all levels.
On this occasion, famous poet Yunus Ejaz presented his speech regarding Kashmir and Talat Khan shed light on the history of Kashmir.
The participants of the event were also shown a report regarding Indian atrocities on Kashmir.
As an expression of solidarity with the Kashmiris, a special delegation of the Sikh For Justice also attended the Friends of Kashmir function and speaking on the occasion, Sikh leaders Gurvinder Singh and Surinder Singh said that the freedom spirit of Kashmiris and Indian Sikhs cannot be suppressed by nefarious tactics.
Kashmiris and Sikhs are standing together in this struggle for freedom from India and now the time has come for the world to stand by the right and truth and impose all economic restrictions on India so that India can be prevented from the worst violations of human rights under the influence of Hindutva philosophy.
On this occasion, Friends of Kashmir members Iqbal Hasan, Namir Awan, Kiran Hayat, Arjumand Hayat and Raima Awan, social leaders Barkat Baseria and Ashraf Bashir also distributed certificates.
At the end of the conference, Maulana Aseel Khan and Moeez Hasan also offered a special prayer for the freedom of Kashmir and Palestine.
