In Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Southampton, Arsenal’s streak of victories came to an end. Before the hosts scored an equalizer in the second half, Jesus was wasteful in front of goal.
Similar to the 1-0 victory over Leeds the week prior, Mikel Arteta’s team played notably worse in the second half. Despite winning all four of their group stage games so far, recent Europa League encounters have also been a bit of a drag.
Jesus acknowledges that his team hasn’t been playing at its peak lately but believes that his team deserved to win at Southampton. “I believe we lost a little bit of our level, with and without the ball,” he remarked. So, that will occasionally occur.
“I am still young, and we are young. Thus, we occasionally need to be more focused. Despite producing a lot, we did not finish well.
“Of course, I put myself in it because I had a chance. We would have won the game if I had scored one or two goals. Football may be like this at times.
We play good and create, but if you don’t score, you lose games. Although it’s challenging, painful, and demanding, we must realize this and take action to get better and return.
For Arsenal to maintain their position as league leaders at the start of the World Cup, they must win their next three league games. Jesus is anxious to regain the form he and his teammates displayed at the start of the campaign.
“We are striving to win the games, to win as many as we can before the World Cup,” he continued. After that, we bounce back powerfully.
“I believe that we have now slightly lowered our level. We had a fantastic season to start, but we have since fallen off.
“I believe we can raise the bar once more, both collectively and individually, for everyone. We need to be more focused, aggressive, and focused both with and without the ball.
Jesus has failed to score in each of his last five games, but he is unsure of the cause. “I don’t know, I genuinely don’t know,” he added.
“If I knew, I’d let you know! But all I can do is keep trying, keep fighting, and keep getting better.
“I’m here to contribute to the team’s goals and to score goals for myself. I recognize that. Of sure, the goals will return soon.
The former Manchester City striker’s chances of traveling to Qatar were in jeopardy after he was left off of the most current Brazil roster. He asserts, however, that his current primary concentration is on competing at the club level.

“The only thing I know is that I have to carry out my duty here,” responded Jesus. I need to concentrate right now, but if they (Brazil) call, I’ll go concentrate during the World Cup, not right now. I’m currently concentrating on this, my club Arsenal.
“Everyone needs to understand that the World Cup is still not here. Here, we must pay attention. I don’t believe that anyone is considering the World Cup.”
