Goa is all set to host the first-ever festival for the person with disabilities.
Purple Fest: Celebrating Diversity is the first-ever festival which is all set to be hosted from January 6-8, 2023 with a grand celebration.
The three-day festival aims to show everyone how to bring inclusivity to our society, and how to support one another.
The Purple Fest will be hosted by the Goa State Commission for Persons with Disabilities in association with the Directorate of Social Welfare and Entertainment Society of Goa.
For the event, thousands of entries have been registered and delegates from all across the country are set to participate.
The event is free for Goan Delegates and students with disabilities. For the rest of the delegates, the registration charges will be 1000 INR per person and in case of group registration, there will be a 50% waiver in charges for people who register in 10 or more numbers.
or exhibitors at the event, the registration fee is INR 2500.
At the festival, there will be all kinds of fun and live performances such as music concerts, dance, stand-up comedy etc.
Additionally, there will be a blind car rally, birdwatching and exhibitions that will showcase the latest aids and products developed by and for PwDs.
Visits to heritage sites and other popular tourist attractions are also a part of the festival.
“Government will try to work hard to make the important places as well as some beaches accessible to divyangs during Purple Fest,” shared Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
