2024 Inductee – Ron Coote
Ron Coote became the 14th rugby league Immortal in a ceremony at the SCG.
He played in nine grand finals in 11 seasons, and won six of them – four with South Sydney and two after he crossed to Easts.
Speaking on Nine’s Today, Coote said it was the first of those nine grand final appearances he remembers the most, even if it was the first of only two he lost.
“That really opened up what rugby league is all about to me,” he said.
“I’m very grateful to rugby league for what it’s done for me, and hearing my name last night was something special.
“I was really honoured by it.”
He’s pictured here posing ahead of his first training session with Easts after switching from the Bunnies.
