There has been another wrinkle added to the trade saga between Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets. It was revealed by Shams Charania of The Athletic that more suitors are emerging for the former NBA MVP.
One of the teams that are now showing interest is the Memphis Grizzlies. The Grizzlies are one of the best up-and-coming teams in the NBA as they have turned things around rather quickly under head coach Taylor Jenkins.
Jenkins took over in 2019, replacing J.B Bickerstaff after he was on the sidelines for one season. The Grizzlies have quickly ascended, going from a 34-win team in his first season as head coach to a 56-win team this past season.
The Grizzlies finished with the second-best record in the NBA during the 2021-22 season, earning the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference behind the Phoenix Suns. While they were knocked out of the playoffs in the second round by the eventual champion Golden State Warriors, Memphis looks like a team that is here to stay.
