Throughout the pandemic, many families were kept apart as countries closed borders to control the spread of the virus. Thankfully international travel is once again much easier, allowing loved ones to be reunited and others to holiday abroad.
While some countries still have a number of Covid rules in place for international arrivals, such as testing and vaccination requirements, some have dropped all regulations completely. By removing all the restrictions and expectations regarding Covid, many Brits can travel abroad without worrying about sometimes complicated regulations.
Take a look at the countries that have scrapped Covid rules, such as quarantine and testing requirements, for international travellers.

Norway
Entry requirements for Norway are the same for all travellers, regardless of Covid vaccination status. Travellers do not need to provide proof of vaccination status to enter Norway, nor do they need to take any tests. Previous requirements to fill out a digital registration form prior to arrival have been removed, and as a general rule if you had the right to enter Norway before the pandemic, you can now freely enter the country once again.
While visiting the country people are no longer required to wear face masks or conform to social distancing requirements in public places.
Mexico
Mexico has enforced some of the more relaxed rules in regards to international travel throughout much of the pandemic. There are currently no rules for travellers entering the country, such as quarantine requirements or vaccine expectations.
The land border between Mexico and the US is now open for travellers going to the US who have been vaccinated with WHO approved Covid vaccines. The closure will still be in effect for non-vaccinated travellers due to the USA’s rules, and applies primarily to tourism and recreational travel. Cargo, trade and healthcare workers will still be able to cross the border.
The only expectation that travellers should be aware of is that upon arrival in Mexico you will be asked to fill out a Health Questionnaire. This document is available in Spanish and English.
Jordan
Since March 1 2022, all travellers regardless of their vaccination status, are no longer required to conduct pre-departure PCR tests and PCR tests on arrival in Jordan. Travellers also do not need proof of vaccination to enter Jordan. All non-Jordanian travellers, whether vaccinated or not, will still be expected complete the Travel To Jordan Declaration Form on the Gateway2Jordan platform and follow all guidance provided by the Government of Jordan.
Maldives
Entry requirements for Maldives are the same for all travellers, regardless of vaccination status. A PCR test is not required to enter Maldives, and you do not need proof of vaccination to enter. There are also no specific requirements for children and young people.
All travellers to the Maldives must fill in a Traveller Health Declaration form 48 hours before departure to and return from the Maldives.
Iceland
There are currently no Covid related travel restrictions for Iceland. You don’t need to provide proof of your vaccination status to enter the country, nor do you need to provide proof of test. There are also no specific entry requirements for children and young people.
Iceland’s health ministry recently said it wants “as many people as possible” to be infected with Covid to achieve “widespread societal resistance”, according to the Telegraph.
Slovenia
Entry requirements for Slovenia are the same for all travellers, regardless of vaccination status. Travellers no longer need to provide proof of vaccination status for entry into the country.
EU guidelines continue to recommend against allowing entry to non-vaccinated travellers from third countries unless their journey is deemed essential. Entry will be denied to foreign travellers who show signs of sickness, and those transiting through Slovenia who do not meet the criteria for entering their country of destination.
All children must also continue to complete the Digital Passenger Locator Form 24 hours before arrival, if entering via an airport or a ferry terminal.
