ilaria Baldwin has hit out at the “cruel” people who criticise her.
Speaking in a new Romper magazine profile, the 39-year-old wife of actor Alec Baldwin, with whom she shares seven children, said: “It’s a ridiculous thing to be cruel to another person.”
While she did not name names, it is timely given Amy Schumer recently mocked her for “pretending” to be Spanish.
In her latest special for Netflix, Amy Schumer: Emergency Contact, the comedienne, 42, also called Baldwin a “sociopath” and likened her brood to the “Von Trapp family” from The Sound of Music.
Schumer also lambasted Alec Baldwin for his part in the accidental death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins while filming the movie Rust in October 2021.
“Her husband shot someone … Don’t look down the barrel of Alec Baldwin’s shotgun,” Schumer joked during her standup routine.
It’s not the first time that Schumer has targeted Balwin.
She had a field day with the yoga teacher in 2021 after it came to light that she had allegedly been dishonest about her Spanish heritage.
Schumer said she met Hilaria “years ago” backstage at Saturday Night Live, where the star told her she was “from España”.
She added: “They have a Von Trapp amount of children, and they named them all, I’m not sure, but very Spanish names like Jamón, Croqueta and Flamenco.
“And all of this would be fine and beautiful, except that ‘Hilaria from España’ is actually Hillary from Boston.
“This woman is in no way Spanish. Her parents are not from Spain. No one in her life is from Spain.”
Opening up about her large family in Romper, Baldwin said her seventh child “[Ilaria] is probably, most definitely, almost completely my last baby”.
However she admitted she is not on birth control.
She explained that the contraception makes her feel “awful” and “depressed”.
“Every single time I have a baby, my OB writes down the vasectomy doctor on a Post-it, and I bring it home to Alec. He hasn’t done it yet,” she added to the publication.
