Host Qatar Knocked Out Of World Cup After 2 Painful Defeats

Qatar have been knocked out of the 2022 World Cup.

The host nation failed to win any of their first two group games.

After losing 2 – 0 to South American side, Ecuador in the opening match of the World Cup, Qatar, the Asian Champions lost to the Teranga Lions of Senegal in their second match on Friday, November 25, 2022.

Qatar’s only hope of having a chance to remain in the World Cup was to see either Netherlands or Ecuador to lose in their encounter.

But the Ecuador vs Netherlands fixture ended in 1 – 1 draw, knocking the host nation out immediately.

Qatar are the first country to exit the tournament which they have invested billions of dollars to host.
