Religious scholars said that there is no conflict of personal differences in Shia-Sunnis – the two main schools of thought in Islam.
It is the responsibility of all of us to discourage the conspiratorial elements who spread sectarianism and prejudice.
Scholars from different schools of thought from Pakistan and India participated in the annual Imam Hussain conference held at a local hotel on Coney Island Avenue in Brooklyn, New York.
The conference was started with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by the presentation of Naat-e-Rasool Maqbool (PBUH).
In their address to the conference, Ahle-e-Sunnat scholars said that none of the Qur’an and Ahlul-Bait can be left out. The Messenger of Allah, peace, and blessings of Allah be upon him, has explained the virtues of the Ahlul-Bait in clear words.
Apart from scholars, a large number of the Pakistani community living in Brooklyn also participated in the Imam Hussain conference. In their address to the participants, the scholars said that the grandson of the Prophet (peace be upon him) stood up against falsehood in the field of Karbala and gave a message to the living world that the truth can never bow down to falsehood.
Scholars showed a wonderful practical demonstration of unity and solidarity. Addressing the audience, the Shia scholars said that a lover of Imam Hussain is not a Shia or a Sunni, but a Hussaini in real sense. Imam Hussain always gave the message that never support oppression but always support the oppressed.
At the end of the conference, Ayatollah Allama Dr. Sakhawat Hussain Sundralvi thanked all the scholars and attendees for their presence and prayed for the relief of flood victims in Pakistan.
