It’s truly appalling to watch the kind of news coming from Palestine in this day and age, where basic human rights are supposed to be the norm. It’s been 8 months and unfortunately ongoing with the horrors and the agonizing scenes we are witnessing on a daily basis. The only thing we can do is to share more news, raise awareness, and provide a platform to show the injustice that is happening in Palestine.
While the Western media still fails to show advocacy and speak the truth, that does not mean there is no voice. During the Cannes Film Festival, one of the most prestigious film festivals worldwide, many celebrities from different backgrounds made a pro-Palestinian fashion statement to stand with Palestine.
Here are celebrities who have shown their solidarity through their fashion choices at the Cannes Film Festival.
Asmae El Moudir:

Bella Hadid:

Kani Kusruti:

Guy Pearce:
The movie star was seen on the carpet wearing a pin of the Palestinian flag, and a bracelet with its colors, showing his unwavering support.
Honorable Mentions – Cate Blanchett:
The Australian actress has returned to the festival for the premiere of her new movie ‘Rumours’. Although we are not entirely sure if her dress was a statement or just a mere coincidence, social media went into a spiral when it appeared on the red carpet. It’s also notable to mention that the actress advocated for the ceasefire.
We hope to see more advocates shine light on the ongoing events in Palestine during these extremely distressing times, and act as examples of using your platform responsibly.
