The Left Students’ Front retained CECT’s leadership to continue fighting in defense of education and science and technology. I know the details of the results.
With 58.8% of the vote, the Students’ Union of the Left Front (FEI) won again, leaving the Sight University Front (Fucyt) in second place with 41.1% of the vote. On behalf of the En Cleve Rosa Group, Martín Kells will continue as president of CECyT as part of the leadership, which solved the leftist student front, and Florencia Lian will take over as first-time secretary of gender and diversity. .
These were the student union’s second elections since its founding in 2019, with hundreds of allies mobilizing themselves against IMF adjustments in education and science.
The campaign began with a talk in defense of the environment and workers’ efforts, with the presence of Madigraph’s Zanon’s historic leader Ral Godoy and Vanina Mancuso. This continued with a great festival against the uncertainty and oppression of the cap, organized by En Clave Rosa, a network of unemployed and unemployed workers and in association with Pan y Rojas. They were part of the same local artists, students and activists of different unions.
This was followed by a week-long intense debate with students of science and technology careers over a dispute over a student center model.
We had the honor of visiting the Laborers of Destiny, who are fighting a hard fight against labor flexibility today. Pilkington activists were also present, including Gonzalo, who is fighting for her reinstatement and Ingrid from the Madigraph Women’s Commission. From the center, along with former Donnelly no-boss workers, we organized ourselves to produce prison alcohol and transport it to hospitals during the pandemic. Today Pan y Rosa groups and activists prepare to attend a multinational meeting of women and dissidents in San Luis Province.
We thank each and every student who joined in with our vote. We want to continue to build a democratic center that is organized in legislatures for all the demands that we have, students, workers, women and dissidents face the adjustments being made by the government and the IMF.
See you in S&T and on the streets!
