AN INFLUENCER has plunged to her death after slipping from the top of a waterfall while filming social media content.
Aanvi Kamdar tragically tumbled down a 300ft-tall gorge as she recorded her surroundings for her 300,000 followers.
Several friends she’d gone with witnessed the shock accident and called emergency services immediately.
But when responders reached Kumbhe Waterfall in Marjurne, India, they struggled to get the 27-year-old to safety due to the sheer height of the drop.
A rescuer told local media: “As soon as we reached the spot, we realised that the girl has fallen nearly 300 to 350ft.
“Even after reaching her, it was difficult to get her up, as she was injured and it was raining heavily.
“So we decided to get her out using a vertical pulley.”
Rescuer Shantanu Kuveskar added: “She fell on the hard, slippery patch of rocks around 300 ft into the valley and couldn’t be spotted initially.
“She was sent up using a stretcher attached to rappelling ropes.
“Six rescuers climbed down the hill, while another 50 assisted atop the hillock.”
Aanvi was alive and responsive when she was pulled from the deadly gorge a whopping six hours later on Tuesday (16 Jul).
She was taken to hospital in nearby Mangaon on ventilatory support, NeedToKnow reports.
However, she tragically died shortly after due to the severe injuries she had sustained from the fall.
As well as posting travel content to social media, Aanvi was a chartered accountant.
She and her pals had chosen to go to the waterfall during the local monsoon season to capture it in its full grandeur.
Her viral content had earned her 300,000 followers on Instagram, with each post garnering hundreds of comments from fans.
Local officials have warned tourists to be cautious when visiting the mountainous area.
It comes as another influencer died after falling into a massive reservoir while filming a stunt for his fans.
Diego Kaua Oliveira Santos, 20, slipped into Lake Salto Grande in the Brazillian state of Americana and drowned while out with friends.
The social media star, who has more than 128,000 followers on Instagram, fell into the reservoir on Tuesday.
His friends who were with him attempted to save him but he was swept away, local media reports.
MC Diegun Md, as he was known to his fans, had earlier promised to give his followers “something live” during his visit to the artificial lake.
Civil police said Diego was recording content for his social media pages when he died, according to local media.
