A teenager has been stabbed in Archway tonight then rushed to hospital where doctors think his injury might be life-changing, police say. Officers were called to Mulkern Road at the junction with Buxton Road, minutes from Archway Underground station after reports of a stabbing.
Medics were treating a man with a stab injury to the leg and then took him to hospital. His condition is not life-threatening, but may be life-changing. So far they have made no arrests though a crime scene is in place as the try to work out what happened.
A Section 60 order is in place for the postcodes N19, N17, AND N5 from 7:30pm tonight (May 4) to 7:30am tomorrow (May 5), giving police extra stop and search powers as they hunt a suspect.
In a statement, the Met Police said: “Police were called by LAS at 18:51hrs on Wednesday, 4 May to Mulkern Road, junction with Buxton Road N19, following reports of a stabbing. A man, believed to be in his teens, was found with a stab injury to his leg. He was taken to hospital; condition not life-threatening but may potentially be life-changing. No arrests at this time.
“A crime scene is in place and enquiries continue. A Section 60 Order granting police additional stop and search powers has been authorised for the N19, N17 and N5 areas from 19:30hrs until 07:30hrs on 5 May.”
