Jehovah’s Witnesses holds global convention from July to August

Jehovah’s Witnesses across the world are holding their annual convention throughout the months of July and August, the church has announced.

“Pursue Peace,” is the theme chosen for this year’s event which is being held virtually.

A statement issued by the Christian organisation in Kumasi and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), said viewers in Ashanti Region would unite with million others around the globe for the convention.

The statement signed by Dr. Kwame Antwi Oduro, Spokesperson for Jehovah’s Witnesses in Ashanti Region, said this year’s virtual programme would be released incrementally throughout July and August.

“This convention is an object lesson in how peace is being achieved by a global community right now as it unites millions of people even in areas of conflict like Ukraine and Russia,” part of the statement read.

It said the power of principles being discussed during the convention transcends national borders, ethnic differences and language barriers and that both individuals and families would benefit from attending the convention.

Topics to explore during the convention, according to the statement, include why friendship with God can lead to true peace, how love leads to inner peace and peace with others, why the Bible can be called the road map to family peace, among others.

It invited the general public to attend the convention by visiting jw.org on the web or JW Broadcasting on the free JW Library app.

Jehovah’s Witnesses have been holding global conventions for more than 100 years, with the last two years being held virtually due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
