John Legend and Chrissy are touring Europe with their kids, Luna and Miles. The celebrity couple shared pictures from their trip with social media fans this past week.
John expressed happiness in having his family with him. “The family is with me for the entire European festival tour,” the recording artist exclaimed. “We scheduled these shows in 2020 [and] then in 2021 but ‘Rona had other plans,” John revealed. “We’re finally here, though,” the artist exclaimed.
The coronavirus pandemic shut down Hollywood and big events such as concerts. John Legend and other recording artists were forced to place their plans for touring on hold indefinitely as government and health officials wrestled with the realities of being ill-prepared for COVID-19. The world began to open up again last year after a vaccine for the virus was established. Still, large events that required close interactions were discouraged. The year 2022 has brought more relaxed restrictions as more is understood about COVID-19 and vaccination rates continue to improve.
Dozens took to Instagram last week to thank John Legend for his spectacular shows on the European festival tour. “Thank you, John,” one social media fan shared. “What an amazing concert,” the continued. “Totally worth the waiting.” Another of John’s supporters said, “It was a wonderful show.”
John Legend continues to revolutionize the music industry with his unique sound and message. Reared in the Christian church, Legend does not shy away from his roots but rather leans into his upbringing while connecting his artistry to the most pressing social issues of the day.
It was just a few weeks ago that John spoke out about the path of abortion rights in the United States. He spoke candidly about his pro-choice stance just weeks before the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.
“I can’t watch this sh*t happen and not say something,” John shared with The Guardian. “We’re teetering on the brink of not being a full democracy,” he added. “We’re about to implement The Handmaid’s Tale into law,” the recording artist said.
The Supreme Court ruled in a 6-3 vote to overturn Roe v. Wade last month. States now have the right to ban abortion.
