Employee treated to an emotional farewell
It’s not easy to say goodbye, but you eventually need to let them know how you feel, and that is why the staff of Kenya Airways held an emotional farewell party for one of their own.

A Facebook post on the airline’s page indicated Dorcus Omengo had worked for the company for 33 years and two months.

“After 33 years and two months, Dorcas Omengo, who joined the company on the 3rd of July 1989, has retired,” several photos were captioned.
At the time of her retirement, she served in the Technical department as an Administrative Assistant in the Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) section.
The Technical team, led by its leadership, organized a farewell party on Omengo’s last day, which coincided with her birthday. Her family was also in attendance.
“Happy retirement, and thank you for your service!” KQ said.
Captain Kinuthie retires
In a related story, TUKO.co.ke reported that celebrated Kenyan Captain Joseph Kinuthia made his last flight with the national carrier after serving Kenya Airways (KQ) for 42 years.

Kinuthia, who first hit the headlines during the country’s inaugural direct flight to New York on Sunday, October 28, 2018, made his last flight on Tuesday, February 20.
Kinuthia’s plane landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport amid pomp and colour as the carrier held a farewell party in his honour.
The 66-year-old thanked KQ for giving him such a rare opportunity to serve as a captain, having clocked over 24,000 flight hours, equivalent to 8 years on the air.
“I feel delighted and happy that the company did what it has done for me not only today but for the last 42 years. We have had a very good working relationship with the company, I have been very comfortable working for KQ and I hope they have been happy working with me,” said Kinuthia.
On its side, KQ thanked him for his resilience, commitment and dedication to service.

Interestingly, he retired barely one day ahead of his birthday on Wednesday, February 20.
