Kylie Jenner is firing back at a makeup artist who questioned her Kylie Cosmetics safety practices.
On Wednesday, cosmetic developer Kevin James Bennett called out the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star over photos of her working with cosmetic products “in the lab” in Italy, as she captioned the snaps she shared via Instagram earlier that day.
The 24-year-old beauty mogul came under fire after fans noticed that she wasn’t wearing a hair cap and gloves while handling products in the images. Bennett shared the same opinion and accused Jenner of allegedly “gaslighting her followers into thinking she is creating cosmetics.”
Jenner clapped back at the makeup artist, commenting on the post: “Kevin – this picture is not taken in a manufacturing facility. I would never bypass sanitary protocols, and neither would any other celeb or beauty brand owner. That’s completely unacceptable, I agree,” according to Us Weekly.
The Kylie Cosmetics founder continued, “This is a small personal space creating my own fun samples and taking pictures for content nowhere near the mass manufacturing. No one is putting customers at risk!”
Aside from giving Bennett an explanation, Jenner also slammed the beauty influencer for allegedly spreading fake news. “Shame on you Kevin for spreading false information,” she wrote.
Following Jenner’s response, Bennett doubled down on his comments and claimed that the reality star was lying.
“Are you seriously going to lie and then troll me? Wow,” he replied, along with a rolling eyes emoji.
“Were you there Kevin?” Jenner replied, before making a joke about one of her several greyhounds. “Ugh now I have to change my dog’s name.”
In his initial post, Bennett shared snaps of Jenner on his Instagram account and wrote that Kardashian-Jenner fans “are going to come for my throat because I’m calling out their cosmetic queen…but WTF.”
Bennett said that he has worked with cosmetic manufacturers as part of his job, and he has “NEVER been allowed into the lab or onto the manufacturing floor without a hair net, shoe covers, mask and disposable gloves.”
“Folks, this is not the way we create cosmetics and misrepresents how our industry works. Credible manufacturers follow STRICT sanitation protocols to protect you,” he added in the caption, along with hashtags “ShameOnYou” and “KylieJenner.”
