LeBron James appears to be the catalyst the LA Lakers desperately needed with the star and team on a storming run since his return.
The Lakers are now 8-2 since LeBron returned from his slight layoff. They secured a convincing 119-102 win over the Atlanta Hawks to continue their momentum.

LeBron’s 30-point haul not only secured his team’s victory but also helped him create another piece of NBA history.
LeBron secures most 30-point games in NBA history
The recent performances of LeBron have left his teammates speechless, the now 40-year-old seems to be rewinding the clock to produce some of his best basketball.
Seemingly putting the trade rumors behind him, The King is in a purple patch of form and is effortlessly breaking records on a weekly basis it seems.
LeBron’s last six games:
- 32 points – 7 rebounds – 6 assists (Sacramento Kings)
- 28 points – 11 rebounds – 11 assists (Detroit Pistons)
- 31 points – 4 rebounds – 10 assists (Golden State Warriors)

LeBron now has a staggering 563 career games where he has scored at least 30 points, he shared his pride in overtaking the star he ‘idolized’.
Speaking to the media LeBron said: “Anytime I’m mentioned with the greats, and arguably one of the greatest to ever play the game [Michael Jordan], someone I idolized in my childhood and the reason I wear 23 is super dope for me.
“It’s just two masters of their craft and I’m just putting in work.”
Anthony Davis mocks LeBron’s slow pursuit of record
While LeBron is highly respected by his teammates and opponents across the NBA it doesn’t stop them poking fun at him.
Lakers star Anthony Davis couldn’t help but notice how many more years it took LeBron to pass Michael Jordan’s achievement.
Davis joked with the media saying that it ‘bothers him’ as a Chicago kid to see Jordan’s record broken: “It bothers me but it took him seven more seasons. Growing up I was more of a Bron [LeBron], that was my era so. I mean it’s obviously a hell of an accomplishment and he’s probably number one in everything at this point.”
