“We lost a father, son, brother and uncle and a beloved person in the Bushwick, Brooklyn community,” wrote Grigoropoulos.
“Words cannot describe the emptiness his family and dearest friends feel. He was the bright light and heart of so many lives and his memory will be eternal.”
They are hoping to raise $250,000 and have received a multitude of donations from anonymous donors saddened by Pizarro’s passing.
According to People, a gunman shot Pizarro multiple times while he was sitting in his parked car.
Following the murder, Law & Order shut down production and are cooperating with law enforcement throughout their investigation.

In a statement shared by NBC and Universal Television, the company wrote: “We were terribly saddened and shocked to hear that one of our crew members was the victim of a crime early this morning and has died as a result.”
“Our hearts go out to his family and friends and we ask that you respect their privacy during this time.”
Pizarro’s family are holding visitation services at the San Juan Funeral Home in Brooklyn and will later hold a mass and burial in a nearby cemetery.
