Luxembourg entertain promotion-chasing Northern Ireland in their final 2024-25 UEFA Nations League C3 fixture.
Victory would see Luxembourg secure a relegation play-off spot without needing results elsewhere to swing in their favour.
A win would see Northern Ireland promoted to League B but a draw would be enough if Bulgaria fail to beat Belarus.
Team News
Luxembourg have no fresh injury issues following their loss to Bulgaria, with goalkeeper – Anthony Moris having withdrawn prior to that game due to injury.
Northern Ireland have no fresh injury concerns to report following their win over Belarus.
When is Kick-Off?
Luxembourg host Northern Ireland at Stade de Luxembourg on Monday 18 November at 8:45pm CET (7:45pm GMT), live on Viaplay YouTube channel.
Stat Attack
- Luxembourg lost 2-0 away in their only previous UEFA Nations League meeting against Northern Ireland in all competitions.
- Northern Ireland are visiting Luxembourg for the first time in this competition, but have won two of three previous trips in all competitions (W2, L1).
- Luxembourg have lost two of their three previous home games against Northern Ireland by a 3-1 result.
- Luxembourg have lost each of their two home games in this group by a 1-0 result.
- Northern Ireland failed to score in their two away games in this group (D1, L1).
Prediction
Already confirmed to finish bottom of the group, Luxembourg aren’t totally done because they need to win to confirm a relegation play-off spot, otherwise they could be be relegated as one of two worst bottom-placed group finishers.
Northern Ireland meanwhile clinically dispatched Belarus and with confidence growing more, I expect them to deliver another composed display after patience proved key in the win over Belarus.
Luxembourg though will be dangerous knowing that automatic relegation is still possible, but I just can’t see Northern Ireland slipping up here and promotion should be theirs if can keep their cool.
Prediction: Luxembourg 0-2 Northern Ireland
