You’ll want to have a bottle of Excedrin handy before reading this story because it’s going to give you a headache.
In Norway, a filmmaker is facing up to three years in jail for violating the country’s oppressive “hate speech” laws. Tonje Gjevjon, who is a lesbian, posted a message to Facebook in response to a trans activist who is a man but claims to be a “lesbian mother.” According to Rebel News, he also identifies as a “gaymer,” though I have no idea what that is.
Tonje Gjevjon, a lesbian filmmaker and actress, was informed on Nov. 17 that she was under investigation for a post on her Facebook page that read, “It’s just as impossible for men to become a lesbian as it is for men to become pregnant. Men are men regardless of their sexual fetishes.”
The post was in response to a prominent Norwegian trans activist, Christine Jentoft, who is a transgender biological male who identifies as a “lesbian mother” and a “gaymer.” Jentoft had previously accused another woman, Christina Ellingsen, of transphobia for a similar claim.
Gjevjon’s plight is part of a growing and disturbing trend of European nations criminalizing speech, specifically on social media. Let’s call that what it is. It’s naked authoritarianism that gets excused simply because the country perpetrating it is European. When speech leads to imprisonment in China, people rightfully condemn that as tyranny. When it happens in Norway, it doesn’t even warrant a mention outside of a few right-leaning news sites that actually value free speech.
That’s a dynamic that must change because this insanity isn’t slowing down. In fact, things are getting so bad, that one has to wonder how much longer gay people will put up with it. They themselves are being marginalized and targeted in order to support the mental delusions of men who think they are women (among the many other insanities of the transgender movement). Do they keep this “allyship” with the transgender lobby up even as it seeks to destroy their long-held distinctions? That’s an interesting battle to watch going forward.
I also find it rather cowardly that the Biden administration has absolutely nothing to say about Europe’s criminalization of not just speech, but truthful speech. That goes for the abuses of power that took place during the COVID-19 pandemic as well. People were physically assaulted and arrested for daring to take a walk outside, and the President of the United States never once condemned it. In fact, he seemed to support the measures, wishing they could be implemented here on a federal level.
None of this stops until enough people stand up in opposition. The transgender movement is insane, it’s grooming children, and it’s on the march.
