Luka Doncic delivered a masterclass for the Dallas Mavericks in a Game 2 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Doncic drilled the game-winning three over Rudy Gobert with a second remaining to pull off the victory.
The four-time All-NBA first-team member finished with a triple-double– 32 points, 10 rebounds, and 13 assists. He picked the Wolves apart with his passing and got his teammates good looks all night. For instance, four other Mavs scored in double-digits, including Kyrie Irving’s 20.
Doncic visited the set of NBA on TNT post-game and shared his thoughts about the final play. Shaquille O’Neal reminded him that the Defensive Player of the Year switched on him, and this is what Doncic had to say:
“I mean, he’s long enough. He can’t move– I mean, I can’t move fast, but I can move faster than him. Like I said, just get to my spot, man.”

The Slovenian is getting to his spots all series. When he’s not, he finds teammates in their spots, whether hitting shooters in the corners or the bigs on lob opportunities. For instance, Irving averaged 25 a night over the first two games while rookie Derrick Lively has not missed a shot in 12 tries.
It will be an uphill climb for the Wolves. The series isn’t won yet, by any means, but winning twice in Dallas is a tall task. The Mavs lost one home game each in the first two series, so if that pattern holds up, Minnesota will be looking at a 3-1 hole after this trip.
The Mavericks host the Wolves for Games 3 and 4 at the American Airlines Center. Meanwhile, Game 3 is at 8 PM EST on May 26.
