Commuters faced delays on the M25 this morning (May 4) after two collisions, one at J31 and one between J25 and J26.
One lane was closed for more than an hour towards the QE2 Bridge clockwise due to a collision at J31 A1306 (Lakeside / Purfleet). Traffic was initially held for 10 minutes. Traffic backed up to J30 A13 (Thurrock) and was slow anticlockwise due to onlookers. There are also knock-on delays on the A13 into London back to Grays.
Two lanes also remained blocked for a few hours before the Holmesdale Tunnel due to a collision involving a lorry and a car clockwise between J26 A121 (Waltham Abbey) and J25 A10 (Enfield). Traffic was already queuing from overnight roadworks, causing added delays.
Both incidents have now been cleared an traffic was flowing well by 10am.
