Mamelodi Sundowns romped to yet another league title this weekend despite NOT even playing in the DStv Premiership!
Rhulani Mokwena’s side now have an unassailable lead atop the log standings, with seven matches to go.

But are they a victim of their own success? There’s little hype around the club’s record extending 13th league crown.
Simply because of their monstrous form, everyone ‘expected’ the Brazilians to win the league.
Rhulani Mokwena believes Mamelodi Sundowns’ achievements aren’t appreciated enough!
We are victims of our own success – Mamelodi Sundowns coach
“My speech before the game was congratulations because you know about it. That’s something that they need to be congratulated for.” Mokwena said as quoted by IOL
“Maybe, sometimes in South Africa we don’t appreciate it enough. We are victims of our own success. So we undermine the difficulties of winning the Premiership.
“The league title is the hardest (trophy) to win in any country because we’ve got to play against 15 opponents, both home and away and the competition lasts for eight months.”
The Brazilians have been firing on all cylinders, and it’s going to pay off come June.
Just how much of money will the club walk away with for their successes? Let’s take a look and see.
As things stand, the Brazilians have banked R100 000 for their MTN8 campaign.

Add to that a guaranteed R15 million for winning the DStv Premiership. In addition to their total prize money, they were crowned the league’s Q1, Q2 and Q3 winners which is another R4.5 million in total.
The Brazilians have qualified for the CAF Champions League quarterfinals meaning a guaranteed R12 million awaits.
That number could soon balloon to R44 million should they go the full way and lift the title.
Not forgetting the ongoing Nedbank Cup, Mamelodi Sundowns have qualified for the last eight.
This means they’ll bank a guaranteed R400 000. Should they go all the way in the Nedbank Cup, a hefty R7 million payout awaits the Brazilians.
