Casemiro was sent off in Manchester United’s Premier League match against Southampton on Sunday and will now serve a four-game suspension.
The Brazil international was sent off in the first half for a challenge on Carlos Alcaraz at Old Trafford.
After reviewing the incident on the VAR monitor, referee Anthony Taylor upgraded Casemiro’s yellow card to a red.
Casemiro was sent off in the Premier League earlier this season, in a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace on February 4.
That means the 31-year-old, who has played an important role in United’s midfield since joining from Real Madrid, will be suspended for three games and will miss a further match due to his previous red card.
Casemiro will now miss United’s FA Cup tie against Fulham at home on March 19. He will also miss United’s Premier League games against Newcastle United, Brentford, and Everton.
CASEMIRO WILL MISS
- Fulham (H) (Mar 19)
- Newcastle United (A) (Apr 2)
- Brentford (H) (Apr 5)
- Liverpool (H) | (Apr 8)
The midfielder is expected to be available for United’s Premier League match against Nottingham Forest on April 15.
