Croatian artist Martina Grlić graduated with an MFA from the Academy of Fine Arts Zagreb in Croatia where she is currently based. Her primary focus is figurative painting that explores political, economic, and social heritage through the deconstruction of politics of memory, image reading, and gendered aspects. Her approach is also closely tied to (auto)ethnography and the use of found imagery. Attending to the transformations within everyday life and popular culture, Grlić grapples with the phenomenon of memory and reminiscence focusing on changes in post-socialist society.
